General Questions

  • What is Poly lumber?

    Poly material is made out of recycled plastic and petroleum-based products. It does not rot and is low     maintenance. Poly is not paintable. The Poly Beaver Dam uses is from Tangent Materials.

  • Will Poly fade?

    Poly material does have built-in UV protection; however, it is not an invincible material. Over the years slight fading may occur if the furniture is continually exposed to direct sunlight over long periods of time.

  • How do I clean Poly?

  • What is MDO (Medium Density Overlay)?

    MDO is a plywood known as an outdoor signboard. The overlay coatings are made from waterproof resin-impregnated fiber, making it 100% waterproof to withstand tough weather elements. It is a paintable material. MDO is used for all Beaver Dam wood lighthouses.

  • What is a hybrid lighthouse?

    The hybrid lighthouse has a combination of both wood and poly. The reason for the use of both is, the wood will eventually rot over years. Therefor, we use poly in the two areas that are known to show the effects of the weather elements first. Number one, the bottom plate or base. Number two, the platform where the posts and chain are. This will add years to the lifespan of the lighthouse.

  • What is the paint brand that Beaver Dam uses?

    We use and exterior grade paint called Benjamin Moore.

  • Does Beaver Dam offer a warrany?

    Beaver Dam offers limited warranties on certain products. See the Limited Warranty in our resources.

  • Does Beaver Dam sell retail?

    Beaver Dam is wholesale only. Please see our dealer locator map for your closest dealer.

  • Are Beaver Dam products made in the USA?

    Yes, all products are manufactured in the USA by skilled Amish craftsmen.
